Haymount

The Vision

Haymount is a classic American small town, which provides "a sense of place" through its mixed use zoning. As a town, Haymount combines homes, ships, workplaces and a public realm - of churches, parks, schools, and civic buildings.  Haymount is situated on a 1650 acre site; only the 34% which has been farmed will be developed, and the wooded areas will be preserved.  When complete Haymount will have 4000 dwellings, including single family detached houses, cottages, rowhouses, duplexes and apartments.  Some apartments (on the waterfront and in town) will be located above shops and offices; others will be in multifamily buildings of varying sizes.  Eventually Haymount will incorporate 250,000 square feet of retail space, for shops which will meet the needs of the residents of the town and county.  Similarly, Haymount's 500,000 square feet of commercial space will provide employment for the residents of the town and its environs.  Haymount not only promises "a sense of place," it is a place.
